W. Kenneth Tyler, Jr., CPA
Kenny Tyler, CPA, a native of Ocean City, is the owner and founder of Tyler & Company, P.A. He embarked upon his public accounting career in 1983 and successfully passed the CPA exam in 1985. After working in several large accounting firms in Baltimore (just to see what they knew) he moved back to Ocean City and opened Tyler & Company in 1987. He was the only staff member at that time.
Mr. Tyler holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in marketing, from Salisbury State University. Kenny is currently a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Accounting Advisory board at Wor Wic Community College.
Barbara Tyler is a senior staff accountant and Director of Operations at Tyler & Company, P.A. Before joining the firm, Barbara worked in Baltimore as a full charge bookkeeper for five years before beginning a career in public accounting in 1987. Her expertise is in accounting and individual taxation. Barbara also handles many of the administrative duties of the firm.
Mrs. Tyler graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in May, 1981. Subsequently, she returned to the University of Baltimore and obtained an accounting certificate in December, 1989.
Elizabeth Parker - Executive Administrator. Betty is a graduate of Glenelg High School, Glenelg, Maryland, and has completed several college courses in business administration. Betty brought over twenty years of supervisory management experience with her when she made her career change and has been the Executive Administrator since 1992.
Dayna Yandle - Operations Manager. Dayna joined Tyler & Company in 1997 after relocating back to the Eastern Shore. As one of the original staff members she has had the pleasure of being a part of the growth and transformation of the firm. Dayna brings a wide range of experience to the firm from administrative, management, and human resources along with financial and payroll experience.
A graduate of the University of Delaware, Barb spent twenty years as the managing partner of a successful graphic arts/printing company in Wilmington, DE. She supervised most aspects of the business in production and office management and worked closely with the Board of Directors in financial planing and growth.
Since relocating to the Eastern Shore with her husband in 1995, she has been working in the public accounting field in areas of bookkeeping and payroll management. Barb joined the offices of Tyler and Company, P.A. in June, 2001.
Sara Potvin has been affiliated with Tyler & Company, P.A. as an accountant since 2000. Her favorite time of year is during tax season, preparing individual tax returns. Prior to moving to the Eastern Shore, she worked for the Department of Justice as an auditor and bankruptcy analyst. Sara received a Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from Bridgewater College. She currently resides in Snow Hill with her family.
Erin Murray – Front Office Manager. Erin joined Tyler & Company in January, 2007. She is a 1998 graduate of Bennett High School and attended Coastal Carolina College in South Carolina with a concentration in business and law. Erin brings administration and public relations experience to the firm and has plans to continue her education in the accounting field.
Cindy Garrish joined Tyler & Company in September 2007 as a Staff Accountant. She is originally from the Baltimore area and graduated from Overlea High School in Baltimore. Cindy has completed several years of higher education in accounting and has been in the public accounting filed since 1997.
Pamela Heying joined Tyler & Company in October 2007 as a Staff Accountant. She has completed several accounting courses at Wor Wic Community College. Pam has many years of experience in the public accounting field in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll and individual tax preparation. Pam enjoys challenges and troubleshooting problems. She lives in Salisbury with her husband and their two Harleys.
